LoginLebanese Experts, Analysts to QNA: Qatari Diplomacy Consistently Proves Capabilities to Address Regional Conflicts
Beirut, June 17 (QNA) - Lebanese experts and political analysts praised the diplomatic efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar, which contributed to bringing the viewpoints of the United States and Iran closer together, culminating in an agreement on a memorandum of understanding to address the outstanding issues between the two sides.
The experts emphasized, in exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that Qatari diplomacy has once again demonstrated its ability to play a trusted role in addressing regional crises and conflicts, based on its balanced relations with various parties and its approach founded on dialogue and political solutions. They noted that Qatar contributed to creating the conditions that led to reaching the agreement.
They stressed that the Qatari efforts have contributed to enhancing opportunities for de-escalation, reducing tensions, and reinforcing stability in the Middle East, including Lebanon, which looks to every initiative that supports security and peace and provides a suitable environment for addressing crises through diplomatic means and constructive dialogue.
For his part, former Lebanese Foreign Minister Dr. Adnan Mansour said that the State of Qatar conducted a series of intensive contacts with the various concerned parties, in addition to a number of influential and active countries, as part of its efforts aimed at containing tensions and creating an appropriate atmosphere for reaching an agreement between the American and Iranian sides.
Mansour added that Qatar played the role of a trusted mediator due to its balanced relations, which enabled it to carry out its diplomatic role efficiently and responsibly, and contributed to bringing the viewpoints of the concerned parties closer together.
The former Lebanese Foreign Minister also highlighted the continued Qatari diplomatic efforts and communications with various influential countries, considering that this approach reflects Doha’s commitment to its good offices aimed at consolidating dialogue and enhancing prospects for understanding between Iran and the United States, in a way that positively impacts the region’s security and stability.
For his part, Hadi Abou Al-Hassan, a member of the Lebanese Parliament, affirmed that experiences once again prove that wars and conflicts, no matter how intense and complex, find no path to resolution except through diplomacy, dialogue, and understanding among states and people, far from the logic of force and escalation.
Abou Al-Hassan also noted the significant efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar and its active role in addressing crises and conflicts in the region, indicating that this role reflects an advanced political and diplomatic vision pursued by Doha.
He added that the success achieved by Qatar on the regional and international levels underscores the importance of its pivotal role as a trusted mediator and a proponent of constructive initiatives, noting that it has spared no effort in promoting security, peace, and stability, and in striving to uphold justice and support just causes, specifically the Palestinian cause.
He also praised Qatar’s supportive positions toward Lebanon at various levels, whether through the Doha Agreement, which contributed to ending a phase of political conflict in the country, or through the initiatives, assistance, and resources it provides in support of stability and development, and in enhancing prospects for dialogue and understanding.
In conclusion of his remarks to QNA, MP Abou Al-Hassan said they are proud of the role played by the State of Qatar in the region. He expressed high appreciation for the efforts of its leadership, government, and people, and wished Qatar continued progress and prosperity, given its role as a pillar of stability and a voice of wisdom and moderation in the region.
For his part, the former Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Hector Hajjar affirmed that Qatari diplomacy has proven in recent years its ability to play constructive roles in a number of regional and international issues, based on its belief in the priority of dialogue and political solutions, adding that the continuation of these efforts would contribute to establishing a more stable and open climate in the region.
Hajjar said in exclusive statements to QNA that the US-Iran agreement is of particular importance because of the repercussions it may have on regional stability and on the opportunities to address many outstanding issues through diplomatic means. He praised the role played by the State of Qatar in supporting dialogue and providing channels of communication between the various parties, benefiting from its balanced relations and its ability to build trust and facilitate understandings.
He believed that any effort aimed at easing tensions in the region and opening the doors to dialogue constitutes a positive step that deserves support, especially in light of what the peoples of the region have witnessed during the past years in terms of wars, crises, and harsh economic and humanitarian repercussions.
The former Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs stressed that the peoples of the region are looking forward to a new phase characterized by dialogue, cooperation, and respect for the sovereignty of states, away from the conflicts that have drained energies and hindered development opportunities.
For his part, political analyst and Editor-in-Chief of Al-Modon newspaper Mounir Rabih affirmed that the State of Qatar has once again imposed itself on the regional and international arenas, based on the success of its active diplomacy in the field of mediation and conflict resolution through dialogue and peaceful means.
Rabih said in exclusive statements to QNA that Qatari diplomatic moves stem from a realistic and accurate reading of the region’s balances and particularities and respect for the sovereignty of the countries in it, and this is what gives Qatar the ability to achieve successes, especially since it is based on the principle of unity, not division.
He believed that the path led by the State of Qatar could lead to the reconstitution of a regional Arab project based on integration, to protect countries, borders, and particularities.
The Lebanese political analyst stressed that Qatari efforts are based on the idea of regional integration and efforts to resolve crises in the region as a whole and in Lebanon in particular. (QNA)
