Jeddah, June 16 (QNA) - Saudi Arabia's Cabinet expressed its appreciation for the mediation efforts undertaken by Pakistan and the State of Qatar to help secure an agreement between the United States and Iran aimed at ending military operations and launching detailed negotiations toward a permanent settlement.

At its weekly session, chaired by HH Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's position on the importance of restoring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz to the conditions that existed before Feb. 28.

The Cabinet said it looked forward to the achievement of peace in a manner that would strengthen regional and global security, while taking into account the security interests of countries in the region and respecting their internal affairs. (QNA)
