Doha, June 16 (QNA) - A committee of Qatar's Shura Council has reviewed a proposal aimed at regulating wedding ceremonies and addressing associated social practices, as part of ongoing discussions on social policy and community traditions.
The Committee on Social Affairs, Labor and Housing held a meeting on Tuesday, chaired by HE the Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, to examine the proposal submitted by several council members.
The suggestion focuses on organizing wedding celebrations and limiting certain associated practices, and was referred to the committee for study by the council.
During the meeting, members reviewed various aspects of the proposal and discussed related observations and perspectives before deciding to refer their report on the matter back to the full council for further consideration.
The discussions form part of the Shura Council's broader role in reviewing social issues and proposing measures aimed at balancing cultural traditions with evolving societal needs in Qatar. (QNA)
