Saudi Arabia's Inflation Edges Up to 1.8% in May
Riyadh, June 15 (QNA) - Saudi Arabia's annual inflation rate, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reached 1.8 percent in May compared to the same period last year. On a monthly basis, the index rose by 0.2 percent compared to April.
In a statement, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics said that the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) recorded an annual increase of 4.6 percent in May compared with May 2025. On a monthly basis, the index rose by 1.2 percent from April.
The CPI measures changes in the prices paid by consumers for a fixed basket of 582 goods and services, while the WPI tracks price movements of goods before the retail stage based on a fixed basket comprising 343 items. (QNA)
