Doha, June 15 (QNA) - The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) have signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration in legal research, professional training, and capacity building, supporting the development of Qatar's legal system and the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The agreement was signed by MOJ's Assistant Undersecretary for Shared Services Khamis Mohammed Al Kuwari, and HBKU Vice President for Administration and Finance Eng. Hamad Mohammed Al Kuwari, in the presence of HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi and HBKU President Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah.

The partnership will focus on specialized training programs, applied legal research, joint academic and professional events, and cooperation in areas including public policy, institutional innovation, legal technology, translation, and artificial intelligence.

HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi said the agreement reflects strong cooperation between government and academic institutions, emphasizing that investing in national legal talent and specialized legal research is key to strengthening the rule of law, justice, and good governance.

He added that the Ministry places great importance on academic partnerships that help develop qualified Qatari professionals capable of keeping pace with legislative and technological developments.

HBKU President Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah welcomed the agreement, describing it as a model of collaboration between academia and government.

He said the partnership will support joint initiatives in education, training, and research to enhance the capabilities and future readiness of Qatar's legal sector.

The agreement aligns with the Ministry of Justice's 2025-2030 strategy to develop human capital, strengthen the legal and legislative environment, and support sustainable development goals. (QNA)
