German Chancellor: US-Iran Agreement Enhances Security, Stability in Middle East
Berlin, June 15 (QNA) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz described the agreement reached between the United States and Iran as a diplomatic breakthrough, representing a positive step towards reducing international tensions and strengthening dialogue between the two sides.
In a statement released on Monday, Merz said, "This can pave way towards a reinvigorated global economy and a more secure Middle East. It is crucial to implement with determination."
The German government would continue to contribute to and promote all diplomatic efforts to this end, he said, adding that Berlin was in close contact with the US, European partners and countries in the region.
"The Strait of Hormuz must be opened to free navigation permanently and without any restrictions," Merz said in a statement, adding that further negotiations in the coming weeks must ensure that Iran verifiably ends its military nuclear program. (QNA)
