Doha, June 14 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency (QNA) organized a blood donation drive at its headquarters in collaboration with the Qatar National Blood Donation Center of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to mark World Blood Donor Day, observed annually on Jun. 14.

Held under the slogan "By Blood, We Share Life... Through Giving, We Triumph," the campaign witnessed a remarkable turnout from QNA employees and staff, who were keen to take part in the humanitarian initiative, understanding its importance in supporting patients and helping save lives, particularly those in emergency situations, accidents, and surgical procedures, as well as those who require regular blood transfusions.

The initiative reflects QNA's commitment to social responsibility and to supporting national efforts to strengthen safe blood reserves and raise awareness of the importance of blood donation as a noble, life-saving humanitarian act.

The campaign reflects the values of social solidarity and mutual support that the agency is keen to instill, stemming from its belief in the importance of active participation in health and humanitarian initiatives that serve the community and support the national healthcare system in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Blood donation is regarded as a noble act that directly contributes to saving the lives of individuals suffering from chronic or malignant illnesses, as well as victims of major accidents who sustain severe blood loss, in addition to other urgent and life-threatening cases.

HMC continues its ongoing efforts to promote participation in regular blood donation, encouraging citizens and residents alike, through its national awareness campaigns, to bolster the national blood bank reserves and meet the demands of the country. (QNA)
