Old Doha Port Unveils Extensive Summer Programme of Events, Activities
Doha, June 14 (QNA) - Old Doha Port (ODP) has announced a diverse lineup of summer events, recreational activities, and visitor-focused services as part of its preparations for the upcoming summer season, further enhancing its position as one of Qatar's premier waterfront destinations.
In a statement issued on Sunday, ODP revealed a comprehensive programme designed to offer residents and visitors an engaging mix of sports, leisure, and maritime experiences throughout the summer months.
Among the highlights is the continuation of the port's weekly running event, held every Tuesday, alongside a variety of sports and wellness activities hosted at the Terminal Building. These include dedicated women's fitness sessions taking place in the City Exhibition area and in front of the aquarium within the Cruise Terminal, providing participants with unique waterfront settings for exercise and recreation.
To improve visitor accessibility and comfort during the summer season, Old Doha Port is introducing a range of mobility and convenience enhancements. Vehicles will be permitted access to the internal road network within Mina District, allowing visitors easier access to the destination's restaurants, cafés, retail outlets, and attractions while reducing walking distances during the warmer months.
ODP is also offering a series of exclusive promotions, including valet parking services aimed at enhancing ease of movement throughout the destination. In addition, complimentary golf cart transportation will be available in both Mina Park and Mina District, enabling visitors to travel comfortably and efficiently between the port's key attractions.
Old Doha Port will continue to showcase its maritime character through a variety of sea-based experiences and recreational activities. Visitors can enjoy an extensive selection of water sports and marine adventures at Container Yard, including fishing activities, surfing, jet skiing, and other waterfront experiences that reinforce the port's appeal as a comprehensive summer leisure destination.
Fishing enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to enjoy dedicated fishing platforms located along the waterfront at Mina Park, opposite the Fish Market. The facilities offer residents and visitors a chance to experience traditional recreational fishing while taking in panoramic views of Doha's iconic skyline.
Through its expanded summer program, Old Doha Port aims to provide a vibrant and accessible destination for families, sports enthusiasts, and tourists, combining leisure, wellness, dining, shopping, and maritime experiences in a unique waterfront setting that reflects Qatar's rich coastal heritage and contemporary tourism ambitions.
