MOPH Holds a National Meeting to Promote Eye Health in Qatar

Doha, June 14 (QNA) - The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), recently held a national meeting that brought together representatives from various entities and institutions concerned with eye health in the State of Qatar to enhance cooperation and coordination in implementing national priorities in this field.

The meeting reviewed the current state of eye health in the country. It highlighted key achievements and implemented initiatives. The meeting also addressed the challenges and opportunities to enhance service delivery. Another focus was on collaboration among stakeholders.

During the meeting, Director of the Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention Programmes Department at MOPH, Sheikh Dr Mohamed bin Hamad Al-Thani reviewed the national action plan for eye health and blindness prevention and shed light on the programme's future objectives to develop and elevate quality.

Participants also discussed opportunities to enhance integration and coordination among the various concerned parties. These efforts support the prevention and early detection of eye diseases. They also contribute to promoting excellence in eye health services and help achieve optimal health outcomes.

This meeting falls within MOPH's commitment to enhancing and developing eye health services in the State of Qatar, supporting national efforts to promote the prevention and early detection of eye diseases, and utilising innovations and technologies, including artificial intelligence, to upgrade service quality and improve health outcomes.

Furthermore, the meeting served as a platform for exchanging expertise, reviewing national achievements, discussing current challenges and future opportunities, and identifying priorities to support the implementation of the national eye health action plan and enhance the sustainability of efforts in this sector.
