Doha, June 11 (QNA) - The Qatar Olympic Academy has concluded a five-day training course on Olympic Movement principles and sports administration, attracting more than 40 participants from Qatar and abroad, underscoring its growing role as a regional hub for specialized sports education.
The course was organized as part of the academy's ongoing efforts to promote Olympic values and modern sports management practices.
The program was delivered in cooperation with, and under the official accreditation of, the Olympic Solidarity program of the International Olympic Committee, with participation from the International Olympic Academy. Organizers said the collaboration reflected the academy's commitment to strengthening international partnerships and enhancing the quality of its educational offerings.
The course forms part of the Qatar Olympic Academy's 2026 annual program and serves as a qualifying pathway for participants seeking admission to its Diploma in Sports Management program.
Academy officials described the diploma as a key initiative for developing national and regional sports professionals capable of leading sports organizations with efficiency and professionalism. The program focuses on both theoretical and practical knowledge in areas including administration, planning, marketing and governance.
The academy said the course aligns with its broader vision of building the capacity of sports-sector professionals and equipping them with the skills needed to manage sports institutions effectively.
The initiative also supports Qatar's ambition to strengthen its position as a global sporting destination by investing in human capital and advancing professional standards across the sports sector.
At the closing ceremony, organizers highlighted the importance of continuing to offer specialized educational programs that contribute to the development of the sports industry and enhance its ability to address future challenges.
Participants were awarded accredited certificates, while the program received positive feedback for the quality of its content and lectures, reflecting what organizers described as the successful achievement of its objectives. (QNA)
