Beirut, June 11 (QNA) - The Lebanese Presidency announced on Thursday that a new round of direct negotiations with Israeli entity will take place in Washington, D.C on June 22.
According to a presidency statement, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun held an assessment meeting on Thursday to review the recent talks held at the US Departments of Defense and State with American and Israeli officials on May 29, June 2, and June 3. The meeting was attended by Lebanese army Chief Rodolphe Haykal, head of the negotiating delegation Ambassador Simon Karam, and officers from the military negotiating team.
Washington previously mediated between Lebanon and  the Israeli entity in mid April to secure a ten day ceasefire agreement, which was subsequently extended for three weeks. Following that mediation, the two sides held three rounds of talks in Washington between April, May, and early June. (QNA)
