US CENTCOM Announces 'Self-Defense' Strikes Against Iran
Washington, June 09 (QNA) - The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said late Tuesday that it had begun carrying out "self-defense" strikes against Iran.
In a statement, CENTCOM said the operation came "in response to yesterday's downing of a US Army Apache helicopter."
"The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression," it added.
Earlier Tuesday, US President Donald Trump accused Iran of shooting down a US military helicopter during a patrol mission in the Strait of Hormuz and vowed that the United States would respond. (QNA)
