Palestinian PM, European Official Hold Call on Situation in Occupied Territories
Ramallah, June 10 (QNA) - Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa spoke on the phone on Wednesday with the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, to discuss recent developments in the West Bank and the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
Both sides underscored during their conversation the importance of working jointly to achieve stability in the Palestinian territories and of lending impetus to a fair and comprehensive political solution culminating in the establishment of an independent and unified Palestinian state based on resolutions of international legitimacy.
The European Commissioner for the Mediterranean stressed that she is deeply alarmed by the persistent unlawful Israeli colonial expansion and the worsening economic and humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories.
She underscored the critical importance of stepping up global efforts to contain the escalation. (QNA)
