Paris, May 06 (QNA) - G7 trade ministers voiced deep concern over economic coercion, particularly arbitrary export restrictions on critical minerals, warning of disruptions to global supply chains and risks to economic security.
In a joint statement after a two-day meeting, ministers also highlighted non-market practices, structural overcapacity, and growing interdependence, pledging closer coordination to reduce vulnerabilities and counter the weaponization of trade dependencies.
French Trade Minister Nicolas Forissier said the talks delivered concrete outcomes, including plans to strengthen joint responses to trade distortions and industrial overcapacity.
The ministers also discussed WTO reform, supply chain resilience, and digital trade, ahead of a G7 leaders’ summit in June in Paris. (QNA)
