Doha, May 05 (QNA) - Qatar University Press is set to participate in the 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, scheduled to take place from May 14 to 23 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

The participation comes as part of the press's ongoing efforts to support academic publishing and promote knowledge production. During the event, it will launch a number of new titles spanning cultural, academic and research fields, alongside translated works.

Organizers said the initiative reflects a broader commitment to encouraging authorship, strengthening reading culture and enhancing the presence of academic books both locally and internationally.

Visitors to the stand will have opportunities to engage directly with authors and take part in panel discussions and accompanying events aimed at fostering dialogue and knowledge exchange.

QU Press Director Sheikha Sheikha Ahmed Al-Thani said the participation marks an important milestone in reinforcing the press's role as a contributor to academic output and a platform for scholarly research.

She added that the initiative aims to expand the press's cultural reach through high-quality publications and intellectual events that align with Qatar's ambitions to build a knowledge-based society.

Since its establishment, QU Press has published 103 books. During the 2025–2026 academic year alone, it produced 20 books and 14 peer-reviewed journal issues across a range of disciplines, including law, social sciences, humanities and education.

According to commentators and enthusiasts, the Doha International Book Fair is one of the region's leading cultural events, bringing together publishers, writers and readers from around the world.

This year's edition will feature more than 515 publishing houses from over 36 countries, alongside participation from government and private institutions. (QNA)
