Doha, May 05 (QNA) - Al Arabi and Al Sadd meet on Wednesday at Al Gharafa Hall in the final of the 27th Amir Cup basketball tournament (2025-2026 season).
Al Arabi seek a historic treble after winning the league and Qatar Cup, while Al Sadd aim to salvage their season and claim a fifth title.
Al Arabi, runners-up last season to Al Rayyan (70-77), last won the cup in 2023-2024 against Al Sadd (87-78).
Backed by strong fan support and a reinforced squad, they reached the final after defeating Qatar (104-73) and Al Ahli (89-70).
Al Sadd, bolstered by key local and foreign players, advanced by beating Al Shamal (107-96) and Al Rayyan (87-72), and are chasing their first title in two seasons.
Launched in 1999-2000, the Amir Cup sees Al Rayyan as the most successful club with 10 titles and 15 final appearances, followed by Al Gharafa (5), Al Sadd (4), and Al Arabi (3).
Officials and players of Al Arabi and Al Sadd stressed their shared ambition to win the Amir Cup basketball final set for Wednesday at Al Gharafa Hall.
Al Arabi basketball chief Abdulrahman Abu Faisal said his side will push for victory and a historic treble, noting finals are decided by fine margins.
Coach Hatem Mamlouk said reaching the final was difficult but voiced confidence in his players despite the strength of Al Sadd. Player Abdulrahman Saad also affirmed readiness to deliver and secure a third title this season.
Al Sadd basketball chief Khaled Al Tamimi said reaching the final is expected for the club, stressing determination to claim the title after missing out on league and Qatar Cup trophies.

Qatar Basketball Federation Secretary-General Saadoun Sabah Al Kuwari said all preparations for the final are complete, expecting strong attendance, and voiced hope for a high-level match reflecting the development of domestic competitions ahead of the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar. (QNA)
