Israeli Occupation Forces Advance into Southern Syria's Quneitra Countryside
Damascus, May 31 (QNA) - Israeli occupation forces advanced into the southern countryside of Quneitra province in southern Syria today.
Local sources reported that an Israeli force consisting of two military vehicles entered the area along the road connecting the village of Saida in the Golan Heights and the al-Basali farm, setting up a temporary checkpoint and conducting searches of passersby before withdrawing.
The sources also indicated that the occupation forces set up a temporary military checkpoint at the eastern entrance to the village of Ma'ariya in the Yarmouk Basin area, west of Daraa province in southern Syria, and searched passersby, vehicles, and public transportation before withdrawing from the site.
The Israeli occupation continues its aggression and violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement by incursions into southern Syria, assaulting civilians through raids and arrests, bulldozing land, and shelling.
Syria consistently demands the withdrawal of the occupation forces from its territory and emphasizes that all Israeli actions in southern Syria are null and void and have no legal effect under international law. Syria calls upon the international community to fulfill its responsibilities, deter the occupation's practices, and compel it to withdraw completely from southern Syria. (QNA)
