Suva, May 31 (QNA) - An earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Sunday south of the Fiji Islandsآ in the South Pacific Ocean.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 486.2 km, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
Fiji lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region prone to frequent and sometimes powerful earthquakes. (QNA)
