Italy Urges EU to Tighten Border Controls Over Ebola Outbreak
Rome, May 29 (QNA) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni called on the European Union to tighten border controls following the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
Italy urged stronger coordination on monitoring arrivals from affected areas and requested an urgent virtual meeting of EU health ministers.
Rome has already activated health screening protocols for travelers arriving from the two African countries and announced the deployment of a medical team to Kinshasa to provide technical support and medical supplies. (QNA)
