Doha, May 23 (QNA) - The Doha International Book Fair hosted a number of specialized workshops addressing the development of cultural work and the applications of digital transformation. Academics and specialists from Qatar University participated in the workshops, which aimed to enhance creative and managerial skills and connect them to the requirements of modern cultural work.
Among the most prominent workshops was one titled "From Thought to Impact: Employing Creative Thinking in Cultural Work," presented by Head of the Department of Culture and Arts at Qatar University, Manal Al Kubaisi. The workshop focused on the importance of creativity in developing cultural projects and transforming ideas into initiatives with a sustainable societal impact.
The workshop addressed the concept of creative thinking and the distinction between traditional and innovative ideas. It also explored the foundations of cultural work and its role in producing humanistic and intellectual messages, highlighting areas such as publishing, cultural campaigns, and performing arts. Practical exercises were also included to enable participants to apply creative thinking tools in their cultural projects in a practical manner.
Al Kubaisi emphasized that creativity is a fundamental element in conveying cultural messages and attracting audiences, noting that successful cultural work is characterized by its ability to present ideas in innovative ways that foster interaction and continuity.
In the same vein, the exhibition hosted a workshop titled "Digital Innovation in Smart Project Management," organized by the Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Qatar University. Presented by Dr. Anas Al Bakri, Professor of Management at Qatar University, the workshop addressed the most prominent applications of digital transformation and their role in enhancing institutional efficiency and developing modern work environments.
Al Bakri explained that the workshop focused on smart management applications and the importance of digital transformation in boosting operational efficiency, reducing costs and risks, and improving marketing tools and data management, which in turn enhances institutions' competitiveness and sustainability.
He pointed out that the workshop paid particular attention to the publishing sector and the publishing houses participating in the exhibition, stressing that cultural institutions are now required to leverage modern digital technologies to achieve a balance between content quality and economic sustainability. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing big data to support decision-making and improve institutional performance. (QNA)
