Doha, May 23 (QNA) - HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a phone call with HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump.

During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly regional and international efforts aimed at consolidating calm and de-escalating tensions, foremost among them supporting the diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan to spare the region further tension and preserve international peace and security.

The call also addressed the importance of continuing dialogue to address current issues, safeguarding maritime security and the safety of strategic waterways, and ensuring the smooth flow of global supply and energy chains.

During the call, HH the Amir affirmed the State of Qatar's firm position calling for prioritizing peaceful solutions and supporting all initiatives aimed at containing the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy, in a way that enhances stability and serves the interests of the peoples of the region and the world.
