London, May 20 (QNA) - Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer discussed several regional and international issues.

During the meeting, Albudaiwi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UK Prime Minister for the United Kingdom's firm and supportive stance alongside the GCC states against Iranian attacks. He underlined that this British position reflects the strength of the robust strategic partnership uniting both sides across all levels.

Both sides commended the signing of the Joint Statement announcing the successful conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between the GCC and the UK. They pointed out that this milestone enhances economic cooperation and embodies the depth and durability of the long-standing, historical ties binding the UK and the GCC states.

They also expressed their shared aspiration to elevate Gulf-European relations to broader horizons to serve mutual interests. (QNA)
