Moscow, May 19 (QNA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that relations between Russia and China have reached an unprecedented level, adding that the close strategic alliance between the two countries playsآ a major stabilizing role globally.
In remarks made ahead of his visit to China, Putin pointed out that trade between Russia and China is conducted almost entirely in rubles and yuan, noting that bilateral trade is experiencing steady growth.
He added that Russian-Chinese trade continues to grow and has long since surpassed the $200 billion mark, adding that 25 years ago, Russia and China signed the Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation (FCT), which laid a solid foundation for strategic interaction and a comprehensive partnership.
Putin is scheduled to arrive in China on Tuesday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
The Kremlin had previously announced that Putin and Xi would discuss current bilateral issues and exchange views on key international and regional matters. (QNA)
