Doha, May 18 (QNA) - Qatar national team player Ali Al Obaidli claimed the gold medal in the 15-Red Snooker Singles event on Monday during the billiards and snooker competitions of the 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026.

Al Obaidli secured the title after defeating Saudi Arabia's Ziyad Alqabani 3-0 in the final match.

The Qatari star dominated the contest from start to finish, taking an early 2-0 lead before maintaining his superiority in the third frame to seal a comprehensive victory and conclude the match swiftly.

Speaking after the triumph, Al Obaidli expressed his immense joy at winning the gold medal at the Gulf Games Doha 2026, emphasizing that the achievement was the result of the hard work and dedication he had invested over the past period.

"I am extremely happy to win the gold medal and dedicate it to Qatar and to the fans who supported us throughout the tournament," said Al Obaidli. "The competition was not easy given the high level of the participating players, but I was determined to deliver my best performance and secure the title."

The Qatari player also noted that winning four medals at the current edition of the Games serves as a strong motivation for him to continue improving and developing in the future.

For his part, President of the Asian Snooker Federation, Mohammed Salem Al Nuaimi praised Al Obaidli's achievement, describing the gold medal victory in the 15-Red Snooker Singles event as a source of great pride that reflects the remarkable progress of snooker players in the region.
