Qatar Forms 1447 AH Hajj Mission Under Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs
Makkah Al-Mukarramah, May 17 (QNA) - HE Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim has issued a ministerial decision establishing the Qatari Hajj Mission for the 1447 AH (2026 CE) Hajj season and defining the support units operating under its umbrella, as part of the State of Qatar's continued commitment to serving its pilgrims and enabling them to perform the Hajj rituals in an atmosphere of security, tranquility, and comfort.
Under the decision, HE the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs will head the Qatari Hajj Mission, while Director of the Hajj and Umrah Affairs Department Ali bin Sultan Al Musaifri has been appointed Deputy Head of the Mission.
Representatives from several ministries and national institutions have also been included in the mission structure, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Health, and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, ensuring institutional integration and seamless coordination among all entities concerned with serving Qatari pilgrims efficiently and effectively.
The ministerial decision also provides for the formation of an advisory committee and a number of specialized administrative and technical units operating within a comprehensive organizational framework designed to deliver services to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
Accompanying the Qatari Hajj Mission is an official media delegation comprising representatives from several national media institutions, including Qatar News Agency, Qatar TV, Al Rayyan TV, and Qatar Radio.
The delegation will provide extensive coverage of the mission's activities, document the journey of Qatari pilgrims across the holy sites, and highlight Qatar's efforts in ensuring the care, safety, and wellbeing of its pilgrims throughout the Hajj season.
This integrated structure reflects the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' commitment to strengthening both field and administrative performance through a unified operational system that ensures close oversight of all organizational and service-related aspects concerning Qatari pilgrims.
The initiative aims to uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and comfort in full coordination with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As part of early preparations to guarantee full operational readiness, the support units of the Qatari Hajj Mission have already commenced their duties, with successive delegations arriving in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in accordance with the responsibilities assigned to each unit.
Specialized teams have begun equipping and finalizing pilgrims' camps in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, while also completing arrangements related to healthcare and medical services.
Coordination efforts are likewise underway with Saudi security authorities and airport officials to facilitate the reception, transportation, and movement of Qatari pilgrims throughout the Hajj season.
Field teams from the support units are also carrying out intensive inspections to assess the readiness of pilgrim accommodations across all approved Qatari Hajj campaigns, ensuring full compliance with approved organizational and service standards and providing pilgrims with an environment that enables them to perform their rituals in safety, comfort, and peace of mind.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs stressed that continuous coordination and close cooperation with the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remain a fundamental pillar in ensuring the success of the Qatari Hajj Mission.
The Ministry also commended the Kingdom's extensive and highly valued efforts in serving pilgrims and continuously developing the Hajj system year after year, contributing to smoother procedures and enhanced services for pilgrims from around the world.
The Ministry further noted that the advanced organizational and operational plans implemented by the Saudi authorities have significantly facilitated the work of official missions and Hajj campaigns, creating an integrated operational environment that has positively enhanced the quality of services and facilities provided to pilgrims.
These efforts have enabled pilgrims to perform their rituals with greater ease and reassurance within a safe, organized, and spiritually enriching atmosphere.
The Ministry affirmed that the efforts undertaken by the support units of the Qatari Hajj Mission are carried out with meticulous coordination and full institutional integration, reflecting the wise leadership's commitment to delivering a distinguished and secure Hajj experience for Qatari pilgrims --one that meets their aspirations and ensures the smooth and comfortable performance of their rituals.
The Ministry also emphasized that the Qatari Hajj Mission will continue to closely monitor the performance of accredited Qatari Hajj campaigns as part of its unwavering commitment to ensuring full compliance with approved regulations and standards.
