Doha, May 14 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), hosted the fifteenth meeting of the MIDANPIRG Communication, Navigation and Surveillance Sub-Group (CNS SG/15) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), along with the fifth meeting of the Frequency Management Working Group (FM WG/5), with the participation of 12 countries from the region.

The two meetings discussed a number of topics related to air navigation, most notably satellite navigation, problems of jamming and falsification of satellite signals, and their effects on aviation safety and security.

The participants also reviewed the challenges related to the frequency band allocated for aviation, and ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of air operations in the areas of reconnaissance and exchange of radar data, in addition to discussing the development and updating of regional plans, to contribute to enhancing safety and security levels in the field of aviation, and supporting reconnaissance capabilities and regional coordination among the countries of the region.
