Prime Minister Opens 35th Doha International Book Fair

Doha, May 14 (QNA) - HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani inaugurated Thursday the 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, which will run through May 23 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

The exhibition features 520 publishing houses from 37 countries across 910 booths, bringing together a wide range of local, regional, and international literary and cultural works.

The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, senior officials, and guests of the fair.

During his the tour, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs visited various pavilions showcasing publications from Qatari, Arab, and international publishing houses, in addition to the latest books, manuscripts, and cultural works presented by the Ministry of Culture, government entities, and participating cultural institutions.

His Excellency also launched the "This Is Qatar" book project, as the guest of honor initiative for the 35th Doha International Book Fair. (QNA)
