Director of American Affairs Department at MOFA to QNA: Signing MOU to Establish Strategic Dialogue between Qatar, Canada Reflects Depth of Both Countries' Partnership
Doha, May 14 (QNA) - HE Director of the Department of American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Jassim bin Mohammed Al Asmakh affirmed that the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the State of Qatar and Canada on the establishment of a strategic dialogue between the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development reflects the depth of the growing partnership between the two friendly countries and their keenness to enhance cooperation and coordination in various areas of mutual interest.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Asmakh said, said that the Qatari-Canadian relations, which extend for over 50 years, are built on continuous coordination between the leaderships of the two countries, mutual respect, common interests, and ongoing development in various political, economic, security, and developmental fields."
He emphasized that the State of Qatar has always been a reliable partner for Canada in times of crisis, noting the political and strategic cooperation that unites the two countries, which includes joint coordination to support regional and international security and stability, strengthen multilateralism, and pursue diplomatic solutions to crises.
His Excellency the Director of the Department of American Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed the State of Qatar's keenness to share its organizational experience with Canada, and to enhance joint cooperation in implementing best practices for organizing the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 in Canada, United States, and Mexico.
