Doha Forum Participates in Geoeconomics Summit 2026 in Tokyo
Tokyo, May 13 (QNA) - Doha Forum participated in the Geoeconomics Summit 2026, hosted by the Institute of Geoeconomics (IOG), based within the International House of Japan (IHJ).
The summit brought together senior policymakers, experts, and business leaders to discuss the geopolitical and economic forces reshaping the global order.
Discussions focused on the impact of energy volatility, geopolitical tensions, and supply chain realignment on regional and global cooperation.
Doha Forum hosted a session titled Asia and the Global Order: Navigating the New Era of Energy and Supply Chains, examining how rising geopolitical tensions and the rapid reconfiguration of supply chains are reshaping Asia's role in the international order and the global economy.
The discussion featured Assistant Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Saleh Abdulla Al Mana, CEO of Tanaka Global Inc. Nobuo Tanaka, and Senior Fellow, Energy Security and Climate Change at CSIS Jane Nakano. The session was moderated by HE Special Advisor, International House of Japan Ambassador Cheol Hee Park.
Speaking on the panel, Al Mana said: "Asia's growing role in global trade presents an important opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation and deepen partnerships across the region. Continued engagement will be key to supporting a more resilient and interconnected global economy."
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, HE Executive Director of Doha Forum Mubarak Al Kuwari said: "Asia is at the center of many of today's most consequential economic and geopolitical shifts. Engaging in dialogue across regions and perspectives is essential to redefining global trust and strengthening international cooperation."
The participation reflects Doha Forum’s continued engagement with key international platforms addressing economic resilience, multilateral cooperation, and regional connectivity.
The Forum's 24th edition will take place on Dec. 5-6, 2026 in Doha, Qatar, under the theme "Redefining Global Trust," convening global leaders to advance dialogue on cooperation, responsibility, and trust in a rapidly evolving international landscape. (QNA)
