Iraq's PM-Designate Holds Talks with Pakistan President to Discuss Regional Stability
Baghdad, May 01 (QNA) - Iraq's prime minister-designate Ali Al Zaidi has held a phone call with Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss bilateral relations and regional security, according to an official statement.
The Iraqi government said the conversation focused on strengthening ties between the two countries and enhancing cooperation across political and regional fronts.
During the call, Al Zaidi highlighted the importance of Pakistan's role in efforts to end ongoing conflict in the region, stressing the need for continued coordination to support stability.
He also extended a formal invitation to President Zardari to visit Iraq. The Pakistani leader expressed his willingness to accept the invitation following the formation of Iraq's new government, the statement added.
The exchange comes as Iraq seeks to reinforce diplomatic partnerships and regional collaboration amid broader geopolitical challenges. (QNA)
