Russia Announces Two-Day Easter Ceasefire in Ukraine
Moscow, April 09 (QNA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared a two-day ceasefire in military operations in Ukraine to mark the Easter holiday.
According to a Kremlin statement, the ceasefire will begin at 4 p.m. on April 11 and continue until the end of April 12.
The statement stressed that Russian forces must remain on high alert to prevent any provocations from Kyiv or other hostile actions. It also expressed the expectation that the Ukrainian side would follow Russia's lead in observing the truce.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported continued advances on all fronts over the past 24 hours. According to the ministry, Russian forces strengthened their positions across combat zones, resulting in 1,255 Ukrainian soldiers killed or injured, while Russian air defense systems destroyed 69 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory overnight.
The announcement comes amid ongoing heavy fighting in eastern Ukraine, as diplomatic and military tensions continue to shape the region. (QNA)
