Ankara, April 08 (QNA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, discussed current developments in the region, particularly the ceasefire between the US and Iran, and ways to transform it into a lasting peace, in a phone call on Wednesday.
President Erdoğan welcomed the ceasefire, noting that this two-week opportunity, following 40 difficult days for the world, should be utilized effectively to reach a lasting peace agreement.
He stressed the importance of not allowing this process to be undermined, pointing out that his country's support for efforts aimed at a solution, undertaken in cooperation with friendly and brotherly nations, especially Pakistan, will continue steadily. (QNA)
