QOC President Inspects Athletes' Village Project for Doha 2030 Asian Games
Doha, April 08 (QNA) - HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the 21st Asian Games – Doha 2030, on Wednesday inspected the Athletes' Village project, which is located in Lusail City.
During the visit, His Excellency reviewed the latest developments and progress of the project, which is designed according to the highest international standards to accommodate approximately 18,000 athletes during the Games.
HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani was accompanied during the visit by HE Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) and member of the Organizing Committee for the Doha 2030 Asian Games; HE Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, Secretary General of the QOC and member of the Organizing Committee; and Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Buainain, CEO of the Organizing Committee.
The Athletes Village is characterized by an integrated infrastructure that includes modern facilities and diverse services that meet the needs of athletes.
It also relies on the principles of sustainability in its design and operation, and embodies the concept of the smart city by employing the latest technologies to enhance the quality of life and facilitate the management of facilities and services with high efficiency. (QNA)
