Security Council Fails to Adopt Resolution on Strait of Hormuz
New York, April 7 (QNA) - The UN Security Council failed Tuesday to adopt a draft resolution on the Strait of Hormuz, submitted by Bahrain on behalf of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Jordan.
According to the UN News Centre, 11 members voted in favor of the draft resolution, while China and Russia vetoed it. Pakistan and Colombia abstained.
It is worth noting that a veto by any permanent member of the Security Council prevents the adoption of any resolution. (QNA)
