Doha, April 07 (QNA) - Assistant Undersecretary for Evaluation Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) Khalid Abdullah Al Harqan reassured students and parents regarding the specifications of the mid-term exams for the second semester, which will begin on Sunday and continue until April 21, stressing that the learning patterns that students have experienced during the past period, whether in in-person or remote learning, have been taken into account in their preparation.

In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Harqan explained that this step comes to ensure the fairness of the assessment and its suitability to the actual level of progress in learning outcomes, and to ensure that the tests do not constitute any additional burden on students from grades 1-11 in government and private schools that apply national standards. This is in line with MOEHE's ongoing commitment to the students’ best interests and to creating the appropriate conditions and atmosphere that ensure they can perform the exams in the best possible way, free from any pressure.

He emphasized the readiness of the assessment system for the launch of the mid-term exams for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, which will be conducted according to the actual attendance system in schools, with the provision of a safe and organized educational environment that ensures the smooth running of the assessment process in a way that serves the interest of the students and enhances the efficiency and stability of the educational process in all schools in the country.

Al Harqan pointed out that preparations for the mid-term exams were carried out in close coordination and cooperation with the Educational Affairs Sector and various concerned parties within MOEHE, within the framework of efforts to integrate the educational and organizational aspects related to the examination process. This aims primarily to provide an ideal and stimulating educational environment that helps students to perform their exams with ease and peace of mind, ensuring the achievement of the best desired educational results and overcoming all obstacles that they may face during this period.

The Assistant Undersecretary noted MOEHE’s keenness to create a suitable atmosphere within the mid-term examinations by pointing out that all standards that support the psychological and mental stability of students are taken into account, stressing that this coordination aims to ensure the consistency of assessment tools with the targeted learning outcomes, and to achieve the highest standards of quality and fairness in educational measurement in a way that serves the educational process and enhances the interests of students.

Schools will handle the preparation of the tests internally in accordance with the approved specifications that have been set, taking into account the actual progress of the students in the curriculum in a way that ensures an accurate measurement of the skills and knowledge acquired during this period, Al Harqan added.

He further explained that this measure comes within the framework of MOEHE’s keenness to unify evaluation standards and provide an integrated testing system that is characterized by transparency and accuracy, and meets the desired educational aspirations.

Organizing the school day during the mid-term exams of the second semester, which extends from April 12-21, comes within the framework of MOEHE’s keenness to support the quality of the evaluation process and to provide a stimulating educational environment that helps students perform their exams in an atmosphere that enhances their focus and academic stability, he added.

Schools will adhere to the approved timetable for evaluation and grade monitoring processes via electronic systems, which supports the accuracy of results and the speed of their announcement. He emphasized the importance of managing the examination period in accordance with the approved regulations and standards in this regard, stressing that the mid-term exams represent an important milestone in measuring the level of academic achievement.

Concluding his remarks to QNA, the Assistant Undersecretary emphasized MOEHE’s commitment to providing a safe and stable educational environment that enables students to take their exams with ease and peace of mind, within the framework of an integrated educational system that is prepared and flexible to deal with various circumstances, thus ensuring the continuity of the educational process and the achievement of its desired goals.
