Trump Threatens Strikes on Iran's Power Plants, Bridges If Strait of Hormuz Not Reopened
Washington, April 05 (QNA) - US President Donald Trump warned Iran on Sunday that it could face strikes on key infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened by his stated deadline of Monday.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Iran's power plants and bridges would be targeted, warning that the country would be "living in hell" if it fails to comply.
"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!" Trump said.
Trump has set a 10-day deadline on March 26 for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route for global energy supplies, where traffic has been disrupted since late February amid escalating tensions.
On Saturday, Trump said the deadline was nearing expiration, warning that Iran had only 48 hours remaining.
"Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out -- 48 hours before all hell will rain [sic] down on them," he said. (QNA)
