Doha, April 04 (QNA) - Al Shamal defeated Umm Salal in a five-goal thriller, winning 3-2, in Week 20 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Bayt Stadium on Saturday.

The result moved them to 37 points, just two behind leaders Al Sadd, with a game in hand.

Omid Ebrahimi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the sixth minute after a foul on Mohammed Omar. Baghdad Bounedjah doubled the lead deep into first-half added time, giving Al Shamal a comfortable cushion at the break.

Alex Collado made it 3-0 in the 59th minute, his deflected effort beating goalkeeper Rami Hamadeh following a precise pass from Bounedjah.

Umm Salal mounted a late comeback, with Antonio Mance pulling one back in the 75th minute through a long-range strike, before Yamaan Jarrar added another eight minutes later. However, Al Shamal held firm to seal the vital win. (QNA)
