Kyiv, April 29 (QNA) - One person was killed, and two others were injured in an attack by Russian forces in the Shostka community in Ukraine's Sumy region. The attack, using drones and a missile, caused large-scale fires in residential areas.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration stated on Telegram that Russian forces targeted civilian infrastructure in the Shostka community last night, explaining that this deliberate attack struck houses where civilians reside.

The administration noted that a 60-year-old woman died from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by the fire. Meanwhile, two other people sought medical assistance. Other residents were evacuated in time, preventing further casualties.

Ukrainian authorities announced on Tuesday that Russian forces attacked an enterprise in Konotop, also in the Sumy region, injuring five people.

Since Feb. 24, 2022, Russia and Ukraine have issued near-daily reports on the course of the fighting and the affected areas. However, due to the ongoing war and the nature of the conflict, these statements cannot be independently verified. (QNA)
