Beirut, April 29 (QNA) - Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stressed the need for Israel to fully implement the ceasefire to enable negotiations, affirming that diplomacy is the only path to security.

He said Lebanon seeks a non-violent resolution through talks, warning that violations and the destruction of border villages will not bring security.

He added that only a strong Lebanese state presence across the entire south to the international border can protect it.

Aoun noted ongoing challenges to stability and efforts to mitigate the impact of military attacks, stressing such violations must cease after the truce.

He also highlighted Arab and European support for negotiations and broad domestic consensus, particularly in the south, on ending the war. (QNA)
