QFA President Praises Level of Competition in Doha Bank Stars League 25/2026
Doha, April 28 (QNA) - HE President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain praised the high level of competition among teams in this season's Qatar Stars League, "Doha Bank Stars League."
In remarks today following the conclusion of the competition -which saw Al Sadd crowned champions for the 19th time and the third consecutive season after a 3-2 victory over Al Shamal- the QFA President said the title was well deserved. He noted that the champions delivered the best performances with outstanding technical quality throughout the campaign, earning the trophy on merit.
Al Buenain also commended the impressive technical level displayed by Al Shamal, who finished as runners-up. He highlighted the team's strong performances over the course of the season and their consistent displays in every match, reflecting the players' commitment and quality.
He added that the defining feature of this season's league was the intensity of competition through to the final round. The close technical levels among all teams meant that positions from first to twelfth place remained undecided until the concluding round, underlining the league's competitiveness. He concluded by wishing all teams success in upcoming competitions.
For his part, CEO of Qatar Stars League (QSL), Hani Taleb Ballan affirmed that this season's Doha Bank Stars League delivered strong and exciting competition through to the final round, both in the title race and across all positions.
He added that Al Sadd fully deserved to lift the trophy, citing the team's outstanding performances and professional approach throughout the campaign. Winning the title for the third consecutive season, he noted, reflects the significant work and cohesion within the club's overall structure.
Ballan further highlighted that the fact league standings were only decided in the final round underscores the remarkable development of the competition, enhancing its status as one of the region's leading leagues in terms of competitiveness and excitement. He expressed his wishes for all teams to continue delivering strong performances in the future phase, contributing to the ongoing growth of professional football in Qatar.
In closing, the CEO of Qatar Stars League extended his appreciation to all partners, staff, sponsors, media organizations, and everyone whose efforts contributed to the success of the season, commending their vital role and dedication. (QNA)
