Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs Discusses Regional Developments with UK Official
Muscat, April 28 (QNA) - Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, discussed with Director General Political at the the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, Lord Edward Llewellyn, a number of issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the latest developments in the region and their implications.
The two sides also exchanged views on ways to promote de-escalation, reduce tensions and advance sustainable political and diplomatic solutions.
Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of safeguarding the security and safety of maritime routes and strategic straits, foremost among them the Strait of Hormuz, and the need to ensure the smooth flow of international navigation, in a way that helps protect global supply chains and enhance economic stability.
The two sides also stressed the importance of strengthening joint cooperation and coordination in the security and maritime fields, and of exchanging expertise in a way that supports efforts to maintain security and stability in the region, and reinforces adherence to international law and the principles of freedom of navigation.
