Pakistan Army Says 22 Militants Killed in Northwest Operation
Islamabad, April 24 (QNA) - Pakistan’s military announced on Friday that 22 militants were killed in an intelligence-based operation in the northwestern Khyber District.
In a statement, the army said the joint operation, conducted with law enforcement agencies, targeted militant elements in the area.
The statement added that militants opened indiscriminate fire during the clashes, leading to the death of a 10-year-old child.
Security forces also seized weapons and ammunition from the militants, who were involved in several armed activities in the region.
Authorities said search and clearance operations were ongoing as part of continued efforts to eliminate potential security threats.
The Khyber District is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province along the border with Afghanistan. (QNA)
