Italian Prime Minister, Kenyan President Discuss Boosting Bilateral Ties
Rome, April 21 (QNA) - Italy's prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, met with Kenyan President William Ruto, who is visiting Rome, to discuss ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations across various sectors.
The meeting also addressed several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
In remarks to the press after the meeting, Meloni described Italy's relations with Kenya as "excellent in all respects," noting that the two sides had agreed to enhance all aspects of cooperation systematically and to adopt a three-year action plan to guide their joint efforts.
She said that Kenya is among the most dynamic economies in sub-Saharan Africa, and trade relations between Italy and Kenya have long been excellent, adding that thanks to the key economic partnership agreement between the European Union and Kenya, bilateral trade continues to grow steadily.
Meloni also disclosed an agreement on defense cooperation with Kenya. (QNA)
