China Says Situation in Strait of Hormuz Is Sensitive and Complex, Urges De-Escalation
Beijing, April 21 (QNA) - China's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is "sensitive and complex."
Guo Jiakun, a ministry spokesman, said at a news conference that China hoped all parties would adhere to the cease-fire agreement in the Middle East by acting responsibly, avoiding escalation and rising tensions, and creating the necessary conditions to restore normal traffic through the strait.
The spokesman also expressed China's concern over the interception of a vessel by the United States, following media reports that the United States had detained an Iranian cargo ship bound for an Iranian port. (QNA)
