Team Qatar Wins 992-AM Class in Second Round of 24H Series
Brussels, April 19 (QNA) - Team Qatar delivered a standout performance at the Michelin 12H Spa-Francorchamps, the second round of the 24H Series European endurance championship, held over three days at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, clinching the 992-AM class title and finishing second overall in the 992 category.
The Qatari team, comprising drivers Abdullah Al Khalifi, Ahmed Al Emadi, and Faisal Al Yafei, secured victory after a strong showing in a highly competitive field featuring some of Europe’s leading endurance racers.
The result underlined the team's strong preparation and competitiveness on the European endurance stage, following an impressive qualifying performance on Friday in which it secured second place, reinforcing its challenge from the outset.
Team Qatar maintained a consistent pace throughout the race, benefiting from seamless driver coordination, a well-executed race strategy, and the car's proven reliability. This enabled the team to secure top honors in the 992-AM class and finish second overall in the 992 classification.
The achievement reflects the continued progress of Qatari motorsport and underscores the team's ambition to build on its success in upcoming international rounds.
The 24H Series Europe features six rounds across the continent. The opening round took place from March 20 to 22 at Mugello Circuit in Italy. The third round is scheduled at Circuit Paul Ricard in France from June 5 to 7, followed by the fourth round at the Nurburgring in Germany from July 3 to 5, the fifth round at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain from September 18 to 20, and the final round at Lusail International Circuit in Qatar from December 11 to 13.
