Syria, Iraq Reopen Al Yarubiyah-Rabia Border Crossing for Travel and Trade
Damascus, April 20 (QNA) - The Syrian and Iraqi sides reopened the Al Yarubiyah-Rabia border crossing Monday, in a move aimed at resuming transit and trade between the two countries.
The reopening of the crossing marks the resumption of operations after a 13-year hiatus, contributing to the revitalization of economic activity and facilitating the movement of citizens and goods within established frameworks.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the General Authority for Ports and Customs in Syria, Qutaiba Badawi, and his Iraqi counterpart, Lieutenant General Omar Al Waeli.
The two sides discussed mechanisms for developing joint operations and facilitating transit.
The two sides had previously reopened the Al Tanf-Al Walid border crossing on April 2, where transit traffic and the passage of Iraqi fuel tankers into Syrian territories resumed. (QNA)
