Central Bank of Oman Issues Treasury Bills Worth OR 9.2 Million
Muscat, April 20 (QNA) - The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced that the total value of treasury bills allocated for issuance this week reached OMR 9.2 million s.
In a statement Monday, the CBO explained that the value of the 28-day bills allocated amounted to OMR 5 million , with an average accepted price of OMR 99.720 per OMR 100.
The lowest accepted price was also OMR 99.720 per OMR 100 , while the average discount rate was 3.65000 percent and the average yield was 3.66025 percent.
The CBO added that the value of the 91-day bills allocated amounted to OMR 3.2 million , with an average accepted price of OMR 99.050 per OMR 100 .
The lowest accepted price was also OMR 99.050 per OMR 100 , while the average discount rate was 3.81044 percent and the average yield was 3.84699 percent.
The value of treasury bills allocated with a maturity of 182 days reached OMR 1 million , with an average accepted price of OMR 98.070 .
The lowest accepted price was also OMR 98.070 per OMR 100 , while the average discount rate was 3.87060 percent and the average yield was 3.94678 percent.
The statement indicated that the interest rate on repurchase agreements (repos) with the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) for these bills is 4.25 percent, while the discount rate with the Central Bank on treasury bill facilities is 4.75 percent.
Treasury bills are a short-term, guaranteed financial instrument issued by the Ministry of Finance to provide investment opportunities for licensed commercial banks.
