Rome, April 18 (QNA) - Inter Milan continued their strong run toward winning the Italian Serie A title, extending their lead at the top of the table to 12 points over their closest rivals after defeating Cagliari 3-0 at home in the opening match of the 33rd round.
Marcus Thuram, Italian Nicolo Barella, and substitute Piotr Zielinski scored the goals in the 52nd, 56th, and 90+2 minutes, respectively. With their 25th win of the season, alongside 3 draws and 5 losses, Inter raised their total to 78 points, moving 12 points clear of second-placed Napoli, who will face Lazio tomorrow.
Cagliari, meanwhile, suffered their 16th defeat of the season, with 8 wins and 9 draws, leaving them on 33 points in 16th place, just six points above the relegation zone. (QNA)
