New York, April 18 (QNA) - The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) participated in the 2026 Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Convened under the theme "Innovate, Unite and Transform: Youth Shaping the Road to 2030," the Forum brought together youth, Member States, and United Nations partners to advance the 2030 Agenda and accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

QFFD's participation reflected the State of Qatar's commitment to youth empowerment and its leading role in advancing the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda globally, recognizing young people as key partners in peacebuilding, social cohesion, and sustainable development.

On the sidelines of the Forum, QFFD took part in an Expert-to-Youth Dialogue panel as part of the side event "From Doha to the World: Youth-led Partnerships to Advance the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda and Accelerate the SDGs," organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the State of Qatar. The session convened senior representatives from governments, the United Nations, and civil society to explore how youth-led, multi-stakeholder partnerships can advance peace, resilience, and sustainable development, with a particular focus on SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11, and 17.

Ibrahim Abdulla Al-Baker, Global Advocacy Researcher at QFFD, represented the Fund on the panel, highlighting QFFD's role in catalyzing scalable, innovative solutions that empower youth to contribute meaningfully to peacebuilding and sustainable development, while mobilizing resources and strengthening multilateral cooperation in support of shared global youth outcomes.

This engagement contributes to the momentum toward the upcoming Arab Youth, Peace and Security Forum, to be hosted in Doha in November 2026, underscoring Qatar's continued leadership in convening global and regional stakeholders and advancing youth participation in peace and development processes.

QFFD remains committed to advancing inclusive, youth-driven solutions that accelerate progress toward the SDGs and support a more peaceful, resilient, and sustainable future for all. (QNA)
