Amman, April 17 (QNA) - Foreign Minister of Jordan, Ayman Safadi called today for concerted regional and international efforts to solidify the ceasefire in Lebanon and support the Lebanese government in its efforts to assert its sovereignty over all Lebanese territory and ensure that weapons are solely in the hands of the state.

During meetings with several of his counterparts and officials participating in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Safadi stressed the need for the international community to take firm and effective stances to protect security and stability in the region from Israeli aggression and escalating policies against Lebanon, Syria, and the occupied West Bank, where the occupation continues to expand settlements and annex Palestinian land.

He emphasized the necessity of implementing all provisions of US President Donald Trump's plan to achieve stability in Gaza and ensure the adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip. He also noted the importance of building upon the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran to reach a sustainable solution that addresses all the root causes of tension in the region, adheres to international law, respects the sovereignty of states, and guarantees freedom of navigation.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister reiterated his country's absolute solidarity with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and its support for all the steps they take to protect their security, stability and the safety of their citizens. (QNA)
